Profreelance's Affiliate & Referral Partner Programme allows independent individuals and organisations to earn commission by making genuine referrals to qualifying Profreelance services.

You don't need to be a salesperson. You don't need to work for Profreelance. You simply need to know people or businesses who could benefit from what we do and make a genuine introduction.

What can you earn?

The current affiliate structure is:

Profreelance offering

Affiliate commission

AI Skills Tutoring

R50 per confirmed, paid and completed session

Operations Redesign

10% of Net Collected Revenue

Workflow & Automation Packages

10% of Net Collected Revenue

Other qualifying consulting services

10%, unless otherwise agreed

Future qualifying products/services

10%, unless otherwise agreed

AI Skills Tutoring

AI Skills Tutoring is currently priced at R250 per session.

For every confirmed, paid and completed tutoring session attributable to your referral, you receive R50.

Commission is not paid for cancelled, refunded, unpaid, fraudulent or complimentary sessions.

Services

For qualifying services, affiliates receive 10% of Net Collected Revenue.

This means commission is calculated on money actually received and retained by Profreelance, excluding VAT or other taxes, refunds, chargebacks, discounts, credits and third-party or pass-through costs.

In other words, commission is based on money actually collected, not the value of a quotation or unpaid invoice.

How referrals work

A referral qualifies when:

  1. You make a genuine introduction to a potential customer.

  2. The customer is not already a Profreelance client or active sales lead.

  3. The referral can be identified as coming from you.

  4. The customer subsequently purchases a qualifying Profreelance product or service.

Once submitted, a referral remains attributed to you for 90 days.

If multiple affiliates claim the same customer, Profreelance will determine attribution based on its records and the circumstances of the referral.

Simply sending us someone's name, contact details or social media profile does not automatically create entitlement to commission.

The referral needs to be genuine and attributable.

What happens if they become a repeat client?

We don't want affiliates to lose out immediately when a good referral becomes a longer-term client.

If a referred client purchases an additional qualifying Profreelance service within 6 months of their original purchase, the affiliate receives 5% of Net Collected Revenue from that additional purchase.

After 6 months, additional purchases do not automatically generate commission unless there is a new qualifying referral or Profreelance agrees otherwise in writing.

For recurring subscriptions, retainers or services, the affiliate receives 10% of Net Collected Revenue for the first 3 months only.

Commission does not continue indefinitely simply because someone originally discovered Profreelance through an affiliate.

When do you get paid?

Commissions are calculated and paid monthly.

A commission becomes payable once:

  • The referral qualifies.

  • The client has paid Profreelance.

  • The payment has cleared.

  • The transaction has not been refunded, reversed or charged back.

The minimum payout threshold is R200.

If your balance is below R200, it can be carried forward until the threshold is reached.

If a transaction is subsequently refunded, reversed or charged back, the related commission may be deducted from future payments or recovered from the affiliate.

Who can become an affiliate?

The programme is open to independent individuals and organisations who can make genuine referrals to relevant Profreelance services.

You might be:

  • A freelancer

  • Consultant

  • Coach

  • Career or skills professional

  • Business owner

  • Community organiser

  • Creator

  • Agency

  • Training provider

  • Professional network

  • Someone who simply knows people who need what Profreelance offers

You don't need a large audience.

A relevant introduction is worth more than shouting into the internet at 40,000 strangers.

What you can and can't do

Affiliates are independent referral partners, not employees or representatives of Profreelance.

You decide how and when you generate referrals and are responsible for your own equipment, expenses, taxes and marketing activities.

You cannot:

  • Negotiate Profreelance pricing

  • Offer unauthorised discounts

  • Enter into contracts on behalf of Profreelance

  • Accept payment from clients on Profreelance's behalf

  • Guarantee results

  • Promise employment or income

  • Make technical or financial claims that Profreelance has not approved

  • Misrepresent yourself as an employee or authorised representative of Profreelance

  • Spam people or unlawfully obtain personal information

  • Use Profreelance branding outside the purposes of the programme

Affiliates must comply with applicable South African laws relating to advertising, consumer protection, electronic communications and privacy, including POPIA.

Before you start: sign the Affiliate & Referral Partner Agreement

Before making referrals under the programme, you need to formally agree to the terms governing the affiliate relationship.

Do not assume that a referral qualifies for commission until the affiliate relationship and referral attribution have been confirmed.

The important bit

This programme is designed around useful introductions, not aggressive selling.

If you know a business owner whose workflows are held together with duct tape and seventeen spreadsheets, you might know someone who needs a Workflow Audit.

If someone in your network wants to actually learn how to use AI for their work instead of collecting another 47 bookmarked AI tools, they might need AI Skills Tutoring.

If a business has grown beyond its existing processes and needs its operations redesigned, that could be a Profreelance referral too.

You don't need to become a salesperson.

You just need to recognise a useful fit and make the introduction.
